question words and question formation
A question is a sentence that asks you something, and it requires an answer.
Question formation and the use of question words in Arabic are not complex. In general, the interrogative word is placed at the beginning of a sentence. A written question in Arabic always ends with a question mark: ?
The interrogative pronouns are:

When متى : To ask about the time
When did you come back from your school?
متى رجعتُ من مدرستك؟
Where أين : to ask about the place
Where did you go on summer vacation?
أين ذهبت في إجازة الصيف؟
How many كم : To ask about quantity,
for example: How many students are in your class?
: كم عدد التلاميذ في فصلك؟
How كيف : to ask about the situation
:How are you?
مثل: كيف حالك؟
What ماذا: To ask about things
What did you find in the room?
ماذا وجدت في الغرفة؟
What ما: To ask about things
What’s your name?
ما اسمك؟
Who مَنْ : to ask about people,
Who is the one who knocks?
مَنْ الطارق؟
Why لماذا : To ask about the reason
Why are you late for your appointment?
للسؤال عن السبب، مثل: لماذا تأخرت عن ميعادك؟
hal هل introduces yes/no question
هل تقصد انك قد أخطأت؟
Do you mean you made a mistake?
a أ- introduces yes/no question
